Housed in a shipping container La Cocina Pública is a mobile kitchen that brings people together through theatre, food and dining.

Travelling from Chile through cities and neighbourhoods in search of local recipes, aromas, practices and customs, Teatro Container will work with Cork’s South Parish residents to share stories and food that will be enjoyed at delicious collective dining events – with Chilean and Cork artists, storytellers, singers and musicians providing you with memories and entertainment.

Live in the South Parish area of Cork city? Your ticket includes a meal, but to encourage a family-friendly atmosphere for all ages, no alcohol will be served at this event.

La Cocina Pública / The Public Kitchen’s Teatro Container team are inviting residents of Cork’s South Parish to get involved with this exciting event, bringing communities together through performance, food and dining.

Food Memories
People willing to share memories of food, recipes etc with Teatro Container Director for a cup of tea and a chat.
Meeting time: Daytime/evenings anytime during 10, 11, 12 June
Meeting point – to suit you!

Cooks wanted
Calling anyone with an interest with food willing to lend a hand during some of the dining performances on 17, 19, 21, 22 and 23 June.
Meeting time: Monday 10 June – 7PM

Musicians, storytellers and performers wanted
Calling anyone with an interest with food willing to perform during some of the dining performances on 17, 19, 21, 22 and 23 June.
Meeting time: Wednesday 12 June – 7PM

Participate in cooking, food and performance workshops
Suitable for all ages from 5 years upwards. The workshops are free. Children under 12 years must attend with a parent/carer.

Sunday 16 June – 3PM until 6PM
